Glossary of Definitions

 

  • ASSIGN REPAIR – Usual the responsibility of a supervisor or manager to contact and appoint a suitable repairer. A user / reporter can assign repair to themselves if it’s a simple fix.
  • CLAIM REPORT – is the senior person responsible for managing the repair and control of a hazard
  • CLOSE OUT – the completion of the process to the point where the hazard has been repaired and the work site is now safe
  • CONTRACTOR – or sub-contractor is a firm or person that carries out work for a company as part of a larger project
  • HAZARD – is anything (including work practices or procedures) that has the potential to harm the health and safety of a person.
  • HAZARD ESCALATION – is the ‘raising of importance to take action on a hazard’ where no action has been taken. This is an intuitive / automatic function built into the app. Hazard escalation notifies a manager, site foreman or supervisor to take remedial action.
  • HAZARD REPORT – a report generated by a user / reporter through to the close out resulting in a detailed downloadable PDF form containing all aspects of the hazard.
  • INCIDENT – An unplanned, undesired event that may cause injury, illness, or property damage or some combination of all three in varying degrees from minor to catastrophic.
  • INCIDENT REPORT – a report generated by a user / reporter of an incident resulting in a detailed downloadable PDF report of the incident.
  • MANAGER – a person responsible for controlling or administering an organization or group of staff.
  • ORGANISATION – is a company, registered business, parent company or trading name
  • PERMISSIONS – the level of responsibility and access granted by administrators, usually appointed in line with job role and responsibilities
  • REPAIRER – the person or contractor responsible for repairing the Hazard. This can also be a worker within your Organisation.
  • REPORTER – the person who initiates / generates a hazard or incident report
  • RISK CATEGORY – refers to the materials or environment in the context of the hazard
  • RISK OF – is the type of risk a hazard presents – slips, trips falls, cuts, abrasions, exposure, burns, crush, impact etc. A complete list is in the app menu under Risk.
  • SITE – is / can be a project, outlet, location or separate business unit within your organisation
  • SITE ACCESS – refers to your company or site administrators granting you access to register for a work site within the web portal
  • SUPERVISOR – the person responsible for the management of work force allocations, permissions and portal access for the whole organisation
  • USER – anyone who accesses the app or the web administration portal. Everyone from front line workers to senior managers and administrators.
  • WEB PORTAL – is the web interface for the app. Fundamental to the working relationship between the mobile app (front end) and the administrative reporting web site portal.
