On August 4th 2016 there was a fatal accident on a construction project in our region. Less than two months later on October 27th 2016 there was a 16-year-old apprentice who fell 7 metres on another project in the local area.
These incidents had a profound effect on our team, so much so that we decided we were going to do something about it. We came together and over the next eighteen months we would workshop and develop a strategy to change what we perceived to be problematic flaws in the safety culture of the common workplace.
The SiteSafe360 app was born from this strategic vision.
We are made up of a diverse cross section of the community, all of whom have been involved with serious workplace incidents over a number of years. Our directors and development partners are people that have been directly affected by workplace accidents. All these people want to make a change, to reduce or eliminate the cost and personal trauma experienced by people from work place injury and incidents.
The razor sharp vision and fundamental philosophy guiding the development of the system was if a work hazard was identified in real time, the risk of serious incidents would be reduced, simple!
In order to achieve this, several criteria were mandatory:
- The app had to be simple to use and universally accessible to all workers
- Intuitive permissions based functionality with flexible application
- Real time alerts and push notification to action issues
- Detailed evidence based reporting and accountability
- Privacy of data and information
- Legal and liability compliance
The design development process led to a re-order of complex organizational structures with built in fail safes and escalations. Our unique permissions and tasks allocation system gives certainty to action being taken.
Our development partners, Intelledox, are leaders in the digital transformation of paper and forms based manual process to next gen forms, experience driven work flows and on-demand customer communications.
The team covered the extent of reportable information and accountabilities to ensure we exceeded legislative requirements. Reduce your exposure and minimise risk with detailed evidence based reports.
Our development process included people and organisations with a vested interest in WHS / OHS advancement. Their contributions helped shape our simple, highly effective, broad ranging work safety solution that will reduce injuries, accidents and costs.
