On August 4th 2016 there was a fatal accident on a construction project in our region. Less than two months later, on October 27th 2016 there was a 16-year-old apprentice who fell 7 metres on another project in the local area.
These incidents had a profound effect on our team, so much so that we decided we were going to do something about it. We came together and over the next eighteen months we would workshop and develop a strategy to change what we perceived to be problematic flaws in the safety culture of the common workplace.
The SiteSafe360 app was born from this strategic vision.
CEO and Co-Founder
Geoff has a long and diverse history in construction, training, safety and management. It was his vision to improve safety on a grand scale.
Technical Director and Co-Founder
Leading the design team is our Technical Director, Steven Moore, who introduced the idea of a digital system to meet Geoff’s vision of change. He has a background in management and safety.
Our chief Legal advisor, Ian Bradfield, has a history in law representing victims of workplace incidents. As a barrister, Ian ensures our system meets and exceeds the legislative requirements.
A software entrepreneur with a talent for predicting the future direction of technological innovation, Phillip has been instrumental in the digital implementation of SiteSafe360.
We are made up of a diverse cross section of the community, all of whom have been involved with serious workplace incidents over a number of years. Our directors and development partners are people that have been directly affected by workplace accidents. All these people want to make a change, to reduce or eliminate the cost and personal trauma experienced by people from workplace injury and incidents.
The razor sharp vision and fundamental philosophy guiding the development of the system was if a work hazard was identified in real time, the risk of serious incidents would be reduced, simple!
In order to achieve this, several criteria were mandatory:
- The app had to be simple to use and universally accessible to all workers
- Intuitive permissions based functionality with flexible application
- Real time alerts and push notification to action issues
- Detailed evidence based reporting and accountability
- Privacy of data and information
- Legal and liability compliance
The design development process led to a re-order of complex organizational structures with built in fail safes and escalations. Our unique permissions and tasks allocation system gives certainty to action being taken.
